Every summer we schedule camp trips to dynamite Amusement Parks and other exciting places of camper interest. In the past we've taken campers to: Dorney Park & the Wild Water Kingdom, Hershey Park, the Wayne County Fair, Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, Montage Alpine and Water Slides, Rafting trips on the Delaware, Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Festival Park in Virginia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Virginia Beach, Boston, Toronto, Kings Dominion, Niagara Falls, Canada's Wonderland Amusement Park, the Ontario Science Center and a whole lot more!
Each 4 week session features an all-camp trip at a major Amusement Park. There are no extra charges for these trips. We hire a fleet of coach buses, pack up our campers and staff, and leave for the Amusement Park right after breakfast. Lunch and dinner are served in our reserved pavilion at the park. Campers entering the 6th grade and younger are supervised by 2 counselors assigned to the cabin group the entire day. Senior campers buddy-up and are supervised by our senior counselors and senior staff members who are located throughout the park. We also have mandatory check-in times at our pavilion. At the end of the day, the buses are loaded, and we depart for camp... hopefully in time to make curfew!
In addition to our All-Camp Trips (which are included in the tuition) every summer we schedule a 3-Day Trip to a site of educational as well as entertaining interest for our campers. This trip is optional and limited to 50 campers who are 11 years old and older.
This summer's 3-Day Trip is scheduled for August 3rd through July 5th, and we'll be heading down to Washington DC, where we’ll be visiting the U.S. Capital, taking a tour of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor via the amazing Seadog III, and also visiting the National Zoo in Washington DC. An entire day will be spent in Paramount’s King’s Dominion Amusement Park which is one of the BEST AMUSEMENT PARKS in the country! It’s going to be an awesome 3 days! The itinerary is superb!
DAY 1: Baltimore, MD! - We leave camp after an early breakfast and travel to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Our first stop is the National Aquarium. Sharks, dolphins, stingrays, and tropical fish are among the more than 16,000 creatures that are featured at the aquarium. There’s even a walk-through rain forest that is amazing and the live-action dolphin show is a must see. After the aquarium, we board the Seadog III for a boat tour of Baltimore’s historic harbor. But the Seadog is more than just a boat tour, once in open water, this jet propelled speedboat will reach an exhilarating top speed of 32 knots. Be sure to hang onto your hat. Before leaving the harbor, we will make time for some shopping. Later that night, at the hotel, we will end the day’s festivities with a pool party and pizza for everybody.
DAY 2: Kings Dominion Amusement Park! - HERE WE COME! We will spend the entire day at Paramount’s Kings Dominion Amusement Park. Kings Dominion is a 400-acre theme park that’s home to more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. The park features 15 world-class roller coasters making it one of the largest coaster collections on the east coast. However, there's more to Kings Dominion than roller coasters. WaterWorks, a 20 acre water park, is located inside Kings Dominion. Packed with wave pools, water slides and flumes and an awesome lazy river, WaterWorks is the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer afternoon. One of the newest and most exciting attractions is the Intimidator 305 roller coaster featuring NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt. Reaching speeds in excess of 90 mph, the Intimidator 305 is the tallest and fastest gravity driven roller coaster on the East Coast. We will spend the entire day #2 at Canada’s Wonderland, one of North America’s best amusement parks! Canada’s Wonderland features rides and attractions that appeal to the timid as well as to the avid thrill seekers out there. Check out the park at www.kingsdominion.com.
DAY 3: Washington DC! - Day 3 is highlighted by a self-guided tour of the most recognizable building in the world, the Capitol Building. On our tour, we will walk through the very same corridors and rooms where congressmen have made history. After the tour, we travel across town to the National Zoo. Get your safari cap and canteen ready as you walk around a 163-acre zoological park that’s home to thousands of animals from all over the world. The zoo provides unlimited opportunities to amaze, entertain, and inform through hands-on exhibits and programs that include animal training and feeding demonstrations.
