Comprehensive Equestrian Program
Lohikan's Equestrian Program is just like a riding camp within a traditional summer camp. Campers who are into riding will find a program that can keep them busy from morning until night. Those campers who want to diversify their camp experience can choice form over 65 different arts, sports and adventure activities!
The equestrian program includes beginner to advanced riding classes in English equitation. Advanced riders qualify for instruction in jumping. Campers who graduate from our Horse Care Clinic can apply to become a camper barn assistant which will allow the camper to spend additional time at the barn.
In addition to instructional classes, riders can participate in fun recreational rides on scenic mountain trails that stretch over seven miles on the camp's property. Horseback overnights, evening trail rides, and inter-camp horse shows are additional equestrian activities that are part of the program.
No Extra Charge for Horseback Riding
Horseback Riding is included in the camp's tuition at no extra charge for 1 period each week. Extra horseback riding is available at $25.00 per period (approximately one hour).
Unlimited Horseback Riding
How much do you want to ride? An hour a day? Three hours a day? At Camp Lohikan you can ride as much as you want! There's no limit to the amount of riding you can schedule in the elective program. In addition to the free riding periods included in the camp tuition and the extra curricular activities (i.e., horseback overnights, horse shows) that are part of the program, campers can schedule as much riding as they want. Extra riding periods are charged at $25.00 per period.
